Lily Allen
The 24-year-old singer lost her second baby when she miscarried last week and was rushed to hospital on Friday after falling ill with septicaemia. The music star was six months pregnant when she lost her and Sam Cooper’s first baby.
She is responding well to treatment and her condition continues to improve. She has reportedly been boosted by the support of her fans and number of supportive letters she has received. A statement from Murray Chalmers read “Lily thanks everyone for the messages of support and again asks that she and partner Sam Cooper be left alone whilst she recovers”
She told Guardian Reporter Decca Aitkenhead, shortly before she miscarried, that she would be taking a break from music to concentrate on being a Mum. It seems the outspoken star was ready to swap the stage for a small holding in the country complete with pigs and chickens. She admitted to Decca Aitkenhead that it was not so easy to make money as a recording artist these days as so many people download pirate versions of songs for free. “… you make money from touring – and that’s all very well if you really enjoy touring. But personally – well, with the thought of little kids running around that doesn’t really work for me”
Its almost like this interview was about another person in another time – so much changed in such a short time. Who knows what she will do now!
She wrote on twitter.com “I’m still very sick but the messages are helping me to be stronger”
We wish you well Lily!
